About Professional Pride...

Professional Pride began in 1989 with the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Manual, written and published by Sue Pivetta, Professional Pride's founder. Shortly after the release of the Emergency Communications Manual, the quest began to locate the perfect simulator for experiential learning.  Eventually, Sue realized nothing yet existed to fill her exacting specifications.  Professional Pride expanded into a simulator development company and 9-1-1 Simulation Training And Response Zone or 9-1-1 StarZ was born.

Professional Pride has grown the product line to over 100 books, manuals, videos, training programs and equipment, up to and including full college course curricula.  The company is currently working on powerful testing and training for agencies using new technology and on site applications.  The team believes strongly in empowering agencies with relevant and current information.  Respect for the profession with extra care into the design and quality of products is clearly evident.

Professional Pride is known for designing practical and useful solutions as well as excelling in customer service. The company team values the 911 industry and the people in it and believes in providing ethical, honest, creative and high-level business delivery.

To talk to the President about anything

  Sue Pivetta, sue@911trainer.com

President of Professional Pride and works with the Pride Team to take vision to product.  Contact Sue for just about anything including motivation.  (She likes to get out of work by talking to you.  She is discouraged from taking orders.)

Sue's Story:  From 1976-86 Sue worked as a Comm Center Supervisor in a combined center in Kent Washington. As a ‘working’ supervisor she was also a console trainer. One day she realized there was too much to learn and asked her Director if classroom wouldn't be a 'good' idea.  He said NO.  After whining about this for a few weeks, her husband (at that time) told her to go to the colleges.  She did and within a year one of the first full time vocational college courses for 911 in the nation began.  Sue was hired even though the college thought she might be a royal pain the hiney.

One day her Dean told her to 'back away from the copier' and write a book.  After trying to get publishers to publish her...and having no luck at all...Sue self-published the '911 Emergency Communications Manual'.  From this one book, 100 more products were created as customers began to ask for more help with training and operations.  Sue went to APCO and NENA asking for more leadership in training - Bill Stanton of NENA (911 Gandhi) worked with Sue to write the 911 Puzzle book. Sue began consulting and providing expert witness for the industry.

Currently Sue is attempting to enter her Masters in Transpersonal Studies Creativity track and working to become a certified yoga instructor (maybe someday she'll achieve both). She is a certified dispute resolution mediator for courts and sits on the Board of Directors for the DRC. Her volunteer experience has included the crisis clinic, homeless shelter, trauma center, public defenders office, domestic abuse board of directors and women’s prisons. Much of her interpersonal knowledge adds to the products, seminars and workshop material.  Not to mention she has six grown children, 5 1/2 grandchildren that teach her daily.  Sue spends personal time interior decorating, creating and teaching art, spiritual studies, attending sporting events (GO Seahawks) and volunteering.

Christine has been with Professional Pride since 1994. She's responsible for accounts receivable/payable and product inventory. She knows the business inside and out and doesn't miss a beat. Call her with AP/AR questions. Cris is the one that makes things happen and keeps us in line by her attention to detail. Her ability to make us laugh is valuable to us.  And we might add that Mela Ramirez, our Chihuahua, keeps us light by loving us for who we are - regardless.
